Great Presentations

At lunch today - GREAT presentation from Raymond Hartfield with AT&T. He talked about the neat educational tools and applications using your.....cell phone. Really cool stuff. Found out that www.polleverywhere.com/ is the software used by American Idol for voting. "Regular People" can use polleverywhere too. At the end of the presentation, he referenced Daniel Pink and his book; A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future. Upon quick review, the book looks interesting.

Saw a great demonstration of Triple Play products. I was particularly interested in the digital signage product.

Good presentations this afternoon; Using Mimio presented by a group from Jones County Jr. College; Aplia learning solutions presented by Susan at USM; The Great Debate presented by Ole Miss.

The information shared by Ole Miss regarding their technology preparations for the Presidential Debate was unbelievable. The number of tv's that were rented, copiers, credentials, etc. Totally Amazing.

Creating Futures Through Technology Conference

This years Creating Futures conference is off to a great start. I've seen lots of dear friends - Foster Flint from MS Gulf Coast CC, Calvin Hewitt from UMMC, Tina Bradley from SBCJC, Janice Hightower from IHL, etc.

I went to a very good session about Wimba delivered by the University of Southern Mississippi. Amy Thorton at USM does a great job.

I talked with Howard technologies, Echo 360 and Venture Technologies. Venture has a new digital signage software package that I am anxious to look at.

MS Educational Computing Association

MECA is a great conference. I've already met three really neat vendors and talked to technology directors from Hinds-Raymond and Pass Christian! There are many things that MSU could share and also learn at this conference.
